Functionality of METALIX software
Licensed software from METALIX is an integrated system with a postprocessor that covers the complete cycle of CNC operations and includes such automation modules as drawings, processing, nesting of blanks, postprocessor, simulation, importing and exporting of job files.
Optimizes the nesting layout of high complexity contours. Graphical work simulation allows easy editing of the control program codes when viewing the results of machining.
The control application is automatically checked for errors.
An option is provided to convert finished control program codes back into the drawing and simulate the respective processing.

- Requirements to the premises for placement of technological equipment
- For placement of the machine a special basement isn’t required. The level difference of the floor surface (height discontinuity) in the horizontal plane over a length of 2 meters may not exceed 4 mm (according to SNiP Construction Standards and Rules 2.03.13-88 “Floors”) under the area for the laser system placement;
- Size of the concrete pad should be at least the total area of the entire system, including additional equipment, with a depth of no less than 140 mm;
- The floor and walls of the room should not be a source of dust (especially cement plaster dust);
- Width of all passages between elements of the equipment or between the equipment and walls of the room (workshop) should be no less than 0.5 meters, and, in some cases, no less than 1 meter;
- Power supply specifications
- The system shall be plugged to 5-wire 3 phase industrial power grid 400 W with acceptable deviation +-10%; 50+-1Hz frequency with acceptable electric power consumption in accordance with the system’s needs. Interphase balance may not exceed +2%. Electric power quality standards in accordance with State Standard GOST ГОСТ 13109-97;
- The system shall be equipped with a three-phase voltage stabilizer to stabilize the voltage against possible swings in the network, which in turn will ensure uninterrupted and reliable operation of the machine;
- The system must be equipped with earthed. That is, connect the earthing circuit of the machine with a cable to the earthing bolt. The cable cross-section must be at least 4 sq. mm.
- Operating microclimatic conditions:
- Prepare the premises to maintain a stable temperature to ensure operation within the range of +10 to +32 C and relative humidity of 80% (at the temperature of 20 C) without condensate formation, at the atmospheric pressure of 83.9-106.6 kPa (630-800 mm Hg);
- Make sure there are no active substances in the room where the system is placed;
- Temperature fluctuations during operation shall not exceed the limit of +3C
- Requirements to the air extraction system:
- The premises shall be equipped with exhaust ventilation to remove combustion products and process-generated dust with the total pressure of no less than 1950 Pa and the productivity of no less than 4250 m3/h.
- The system must be connected to the aforesaid exhaust ventilation system with a 315 mm diameter ventilation hose or pipe.
- Process gas supply (for the cutting process):
- For laser cutting, the following should be used: oxygen in cylinders (99.7% purity), nitrogen (99.97% purity) or an industrial network of dried compressed air must be available (water content not exceeding 0.005%, oil content not exceeding 0.002%, no worse than the 4th containment class according to state standard GOST 17433-80, pressure no less than 14 bar);
- Requirements for the operation and storage of cylinders should be based on safety regulations for handling of flammable (oxygen) and non-flammable (nitrogen, argon) gases, which are valid in the country where the system is to be used.
- Utility air supply (for pneumatic equipment operation):
- Supply of purified, dehumidified compressed air to the auxiliary pneumatic units of the laser complex by a pneumatic pipe with an internal and external diameter of 10 mm and 12 mm, respectively. Air purification in accordance with DIN ISO 8573-1: oils no more than 0.002%, water no more than 0.005%, particle size up to 40 microns, not worse than class 4 contamination according in accordance with state standard DEST ДЭСТ 17433-80, pressure 6…8 bar, maximum losses: 0.5 l/min.
- Requirements to the cooled liquid of the machine’s cooling system:
- Cooling liquid: distilled water;
- The quality of distilled water in the cooling system (chiller) circuit shall comply with ISO 22519:2019 (recommended water quality – after reverse osmosis) with hardness of no more than 0.25 dH ) = 4.45 ppm = 0.089 ml/liter and electrical conductivity of no more than 50 μS/cm

The software package included in the delivery set provides:
- cutting with a common contour in automatic mode, taking into account the width of the cut
- jump motion optimization;
- introduce obstacle avoidance for the cutting head when needed;
- inventory tracking of sheets, blanks, parts, and skeletons;
- automatic setting of micro-bridges in the cutting contour.
- The software allows to download and edit drawings of .dwg, .dxf and any other formats supported by CAD, as well as has the ability of network synchronization with personal computers and reading the information from various electronic media.
